Air Fryer Coffee Donuts
The first time I made donuts in my air fryer I used premade biscuit dough.
While they are delicious, I wanted to go old-school and make them from scratch this time!
These air fryer coffee donuts are so incredibly delicious.
If coffee isn’t your thing, you can totally replace the coffee extract in this recipe with vanilla extract.
Feel like a lemon donut? Use lemon extract instead of vanilla!
I honestly can’t believe it took me this long to make donuts from scratch, but now that I have I don’t think I can have them any other way.

Gather all of the ingredients you will need to make this delicious recipe.
Combine the warm milk and yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment.
Allow the yeast to sit for five minutes, or until it has become foamy on top.
Let’s make the donuts!
Next, add the egg, melted butter, and coffee extract and mix until combined.
I use the Watkins pure coffee extract, you can buy it on Amazon!
With the mixer on low, slowly add the flour followed by the brown sugar.
Turn the mixer to medium speed and knead the dough until it easily pulls away from the sides of the bowl. It should be smooth, but pretty sticky.
Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl and place it in a warm spot to rise until doubled in size, about an hour.
Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a lightly floured surface and roll it to ½” thick.
Use round cutters to cut out the doughnuts.
I recommend this donut cutter from Amazon.
Transfer the donuts to the air fryer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket, and cook at 400F for 7 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown on the outside.
Remove the donuts from the air fryer and allow them to cool slightly before icing.
Let’s make the icing for the donuts!
Grab the ingredients to make the icing.
Whisk the ingredients together and set the icing aside until ready to use.
Once the doughnuts have cooled, spread the icing over the donuts and top with sprinkles, if desired.
Close up for the yum factor!
Store the donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
If they last that long!
