Second Grade Dolch Sight Words Practice
A while back I shared a 20-page sight words practice package and promised I had more coming.
I decided it was probably best to group them into grades to make it easier for you.
So, today I am launching second grade, the fourth of 5 Dolch sight word packages!
Dolch Sight Word Packages:
- Pre-Kindergarten – 40 words
- Kindergarten – 52 words
- First Grade – 41 words
- Second Grade – 46 words
- Third Grade – 41 words
Once each package has been posted I will update the list above to link to each package in every post so they are easy to find!
What Are Sight Words And How Do They Help?
Sight words help to build speed and fluency when reading.
Speed and fluency help with accuracy and increase reading comprehension.
Sight words are a collection of words that children need to learn to recognize without sounding out the letters.
They are the most common and frequently used words and are foundational words that are used to build a child’s vocabulary.
Practising sight words with your children is fundamental in their education.

Second Grade Dolch Sight Words Practice
This Second Grade Dolch Sight Words Practice printable package is a great way to help your child learn to read and write while having fun!
To get multiple uses out of your package, and pass it down to another child, I suggest laminating it.

What’s Included
Here is a preview of the pages included in the sight word practice activities package.
There are a total of 46 pages of learning activities, one Dolch sight word per page.

Each page asks the child to read the word.

Then they are instructed to trace the word.

Next, they are asked to circle the word.

They get to be a detective and find the word hidden in the word search.

Next, they also get to practice their writing skills as they write out the sight word.

Last, but not least, they need to complete the sentence using the sight word.

Each sheet has all of the activities for its sight word.
Laminating the sheets will allow your child to reuse them over and over again.
Learning doesn’t have to be boring, in fact, children learn better when learning is done in a fun way.
Repetitiveness also helps in learning.
Your child will get better each time they practice.
