Air Fryer Honey Buffalo Chicken Wings
Hi, my name is Aimee and I am a wing addict!
All jokes aside, I really could eat chicken wings every single day and never get sick of them.
How could you? There are so many flavours of sauces and rubs to try.
With that said, I still have an all-time fave sauce and that is my homemade sauce.
But, when I need to switch things up, these air fryer honey buffalo chicken wings hit the spot!
If you don’t own an air fryer I highly recommend the Cosori Air Fryer.
It has a very large basket, it is super easy to use and it cleans up so well.
The one I used in this recipe is the first air fryer that I bought for blog recipes, but it isn’t very big, so I upgraded to the Cosori for our personal use and I couldn’t be happier!

Gather all of the ingredients you will need to make the recipe.
Add the chicken wing portions, flour, garlic powder, and salt to a large bowl and toss to combine.
Recipe Note: Flour helps the wings crisp in the air fryer. Don’t skip it! For extra crispy wings, mix the flour with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
Spray your air fryer basket with avocado oil spray (or olive oil) and add the chicken wings in a single layer.
Make sure not to overcrowd the basket or they won’t get crispy!
Spray the top of the wings with avocado oil spray and cook at 400° F for 8 minutes.
Flip the chicken wings and cook for an additional 8 minutes.
Remove the wings from the air fryer and set them aside while you make the sauce.
Next, we need to make the honey buffalo sauce!
Combine the hot sauce, honey, and butter in a small microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave on high for 1 minute. Whisk to combine. If the butter is not fully melted, heat for an additional 30 seconds.
Recipe Note: I used a medium spice hot sauce, Frank’s Red Hot to be exact. Feel free to use any brand you like, just keep in mind you’re using a lot of it so you don’t want it to be too spicy.
Pour the sauce over the wings and serve immediately.
Or, if you want to crisp them up a bit more, you can pop them back in the air fryer for an additional 2-5 minutes.
Transfer your air fryer honey buffalo chicken wings to a nice dish for serving.
Serve alongside some veggie sticks.
Don’t forget your favourite dipping sauce and enjoy!
