Air Fryer Mini Hasselback Potatoes

These Air Fryer Mini Hasselback Potatoes are simply perfection.
Did you know the name Hasselback comes from a restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden, named Hasselbacken, where the recipe for Hasselback potatoes was first introduced in the 1940s?
This technique of thin slices but left joined at the bottom looks impressive, but it is very easy and it is a great way to add some flair to your favourite vegetables and even meats!
Since purchasing our air fryer I find myself using it more than our oven, especially in the warmer months when I don’t want the oven heating up the house.
The top two things I make in the air fryer are some form of potatoes and chicken wings. I also love using it to make Bella chicken nuggets and fries too.
It’s a hard toss-up between our air fryer and Instant Pot for the best kitchen small appliance.
One goal I have set for myself this year is to share more of my recipes for these two appliances.

Today I won the battle and present you with this air fryer recipe that will take 15 minutes from prep to table.
Air Fryer Mini Hasselback Potatoes
Swap your usual go-to spuds for these delicious crispy Air Fryer Mini Hasselback Potatoes. The perfect side dish for a meal, or enjoy as a snack!
What You Will Need:
- 1 pound small golden potatoes (about 1.5” long)
- Olive oil spray
- Air Fryer

How To Make Air Fryer Mini Hasselback Potatoes

Grab the ingredients you will need to make these delicious potatoes.
Slice each potato 10 times, making sure not to cut it all the way through the potato.
You want to have no larger than ¼” slices that go no more than ¾ of the way through the potato.
Add the potatoes cut side up to the air fryer (make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket) and spray them with olive oil spray.
Season as desired.
Seasoning Suggestions:
Ranch: Sprinkle a pinch (about ¼ teaspoon) of dried ranch seasoning over each potato.
Garlic Parmesan: Combine ½ cup grated parmesan and ¾ teaspoon garlic powder in a small bowl. Top each potato with 1 teaspoon of the mixture.
Plain: Sprinkle a small pinch (about ⅛ teaspoon) of kosher salt over each potato.
Cook at 400F for 10-12 minutes or until the potatoes are crisp and golden brown.
Serve warm or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.

Ingredients
- 1 lb mini potatoes
- olive oil
- kosher salt (optional)
- ¼ tsp ranch seasoning (optional)
- ¾ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ cup grated parmesan (optional)
Instructions
- Slice each potato 10 times, making sure not to cut it all the way through the potato. You want to have no larger than ¼” slices that go no more than ¾ of the way through the potato.
