The Best Sparkling Margarita
I am not a huge drinker, but I do enjoy a nice adult beverage from time to time.
Two of my favourite adult beverages are Champagne and Margaritas!
If you enjoy Champagne and Margaritas, combining the two is something magical.
They pair so nicely together and it’s a great beverage to enjoy this holiday season.
You better believe I will be toasting with these all holiday season long!
The Best Sparkling Margarita
Toast the holidays or ring in the New Year with this deliciously festive Sparkling Margarita beverage.
Sparkling Margaritas are a bubbly version of the classic cocktail and a perfect combination of sweet and tart.
Now, this can totally be made as a mocktail for those who do not drink.
To make this non-alcoholic, replace the champagne with St. Regis De-Alcoholized Wine Nosecco, replace the tequila with margarita mix, and replace the triple sec with orange juice.
Also, at the end of this blog post, I am sharing other great alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages so be sure to check them out!
What You Will Need:
- 1-ounce tequila
- ½ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- ½ ounce Triple Sec
- Champagne, enough to fill the glass (about ¼ cup)
How To Make The Best Sparkling Margarita
Follow along with The Best Sparkling Margarita step-by-step process photos and then find the printable recipe below!
There are two ways to make this Sparkling Margarita, on the rocks and shaken!
For On The Rocks:
Fill a glass with ice.
Add the tequila, lime juice, and Triple Sec.
Stir gently to combine.
Top with champagne and serve immediately.
For Shaken:
Fill a cocktail shaker (or glass jar) with ice.
Add the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.
Shake until chilled — about 30 seconds.
Strain the shaker into the champagne flute.
Top with champagne and serve immediately.
I like to rim my glass with a homemade margarita mix.
Combine ¼ cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of lime zest.
Before making your drink, dip the rim of the glass in water or lime juice followed by the margarita mix. Continue making the Sparkling Margarita as instructed.
Recipe Tips:
This recipe is also delicious with vodka if you don’t have any tequila on hand.
If you don’t have Triple Sec, you can substitute freshly squeezed orange juice.
It is best to use an inexpensive Prosecco, like La Marca, in this recipe.
Try to avoid any bubbly that would be too sweet (Dulce) or too dry (Extra Brut).
I do not recommend making these in advance as the champagne will start to flatten immediately once opened.
Making this with frozen Margarita would also be incredible!
