Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham
This brown sugar pineapple ham is a show-stopping addition to any holiday dinner. With its sweet and tangy glaze and tender texture, it’s a dish that will have your guests raving.
Presentation Tips
To make your holiday dinner even more special, consider these presentation tips:
- Garnish with Fresh Herbs: Add a pop of colour by garnishing the platter with fresh rosemary or thyme. The herbs not only enhance the visual appeal but also add a subtle aroma that complements the flavours of the ham.
- Slice and Serve with Care: For the best presentation, slice the ham just before serving to keep it moist and flavorful. Arrange the slices neatly on a serving platter.
Choosing the Right Ham
- When selecting a ham, opt for a bone-in variety for the juiciest result. The bone helps to retain moisture during cooking, resulting in a tender and flavorful dish. Additionally, bone-in ham tends to have a richer flavour, as the bone imparts its essence into the meat during cooking.
- Consider the size of the ham in relation to the number of guests you’ll be serving. An 8-10 pound ham is typically sufficient for a gathering of 10-12 people, with leftovers to spare. If you’re cooking for a smaller group, you can adjust the recipe accordingly, or enjoy the leftovers in creative ways.
Consider serving it with:
What You Will Need:
- 1 bone-in spiral ham (pre-cooked)
- 1 can pineapple slices (with juice)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Yields: 6-8 servings

Gather all of the ingredients you will need to make this recipe.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the packaging from the pre-cooked ham and place it in an oven-safe casserole dish.
Open the can of pineapple slices and place the slices between the slices of ham.
Next, pour the juice from the can over it.
Rub the brown sugar evenly over the pineapple slices and ham.
You can adjust the amount of brown sugar based on your sweetness preference.
Cover the ham with aluminum foil and cook for 1.5 hours in the oven. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the ham.
You want the ham to heat through and the flavours to meld.
Check the ham periodically. You can baste it with the juices that collect in the dish to ensure it stays moist and flavorful.
If your ham came with a glaze package, you could mix this with a few tablespoons of the pineapple juice, mix it and glaze the ham with it.
Once the ham is fully heated remove it from the oven and place it on a serving tray or board.
My mouth is watering and counting down the days until I make this again for Christmas dinner!
Slice the ham and serve it with the pineapple slices.
NOTES:
- Since the ham is already cooked, the goal is to heat it through and infuse it with the flavours of pineapple and brown sugar.
- Remember that cooking times may vary based on the specifics of your slow cooker and the ham’s size, so adjust accordingly.
