Handmade Gift Idea: Monster Cookie Mix In A Jar

This DIY Monster Cookie Mix In A Jar is a great hostess or party favour gift to give this holiday season!

While I love baking, baking for dozens of people just isn’t in my schedule.

That is why I love gifting easy handmade DIY gifts that people will actually want and enjoy!

Cookie mix in a jar is one of my favourites and can be tossed together in under 30 minutes.

Yup,  that means you procrastinators like me still have time to get our shit together and have a fantastic gift to hand out.

Monster Cookie Mix In A Jar

Give the gift of homemade cookies this holiday season without baking by making this Monster Cookie Mix In A Jar!

What You Will Need:

• 2 ¼ oats
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• ½ cup peanut butter chocolate candy
• ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
• ½ cup packed brown sugar
• ½ cup white sugar
• Clear glass pint jar
• Patterned paper
• Ribbon or twine
• Printable gift tag (link near the end of post)

Using a canning funnel, pour oats into the jar.

Add in your vanilla and baking soda then tap the jar on a table to even oat layer.

Pour peanut butter candies on top of oats.

Rotate jar to even candy layer.

Add in your chocolate chips on top of candy.

Rotate jar to even chocolate chip layer.

Pour brown sugar on top of chocolate chip layer.

Remove the funnel and use the bottom of a spoon to pack brown sugar and even the layer.

Replace funnel and top brown sugar layer with white sugar.

Trace the center insert of the pint jar lid on the back of the patterned paper and cut out the circle.

Glue the circle to the top of the pint jar and screw the lid tightly on the jar.

Print the gift tags (link below) and cut them out.

Glue each gift tag on top of the patterned paper leaving a quarter of an inch of paper around the tag.

Cut the paper and punch a hole in the corner.

Attach the gift tag to the jar with ribbon or twine.

Instructions on how to prepare the cookies for the recipient are written on the gift tag.

5. Replace funnel and top brown sugar layer with white sugar.
6. Trace the center insert of the pint jar lid on the back of the patterned paper and cut out the circle. Glue the circle to the top of the pint jar. Screw the lid tightly on the jar.
7. Print the gift tags and cut out. Glue each gift tag on top of patterned paper leaving a quarter of an inch of paper around the tag. Cut the paper and punch a hole in the corner.
8. Attach the gift tag to the jar with ribbon or twine.

Notes

Your gift recipient will need the following ingredients for mixing:

• 2 eggs
• ¼ cup butter
• ¾ cup peanut butter
