Starting on October 31, 2017, Canadians will be able to link your Petro-Points card to any of their RBC debit or credit cards to instantly save 3¢ per litre on fuel! If you think that is good, you will also be able to earn 20% more Petro-Points on qualifying purchases made at Petro-Canada. Those who have a RBC Rewards credit card will also earn 20% more RBC Rewards points on their Petro-Canada purchases.

It’s almost an Oprah moment, 3¢ savings for you, 20% more points for you, and you, and you, and you!

All joking aside, this is an amazing program. Those savings and points will add up quickly, meaning more money in your pocket and more rewards to enjoy!

How It Works

Saving money at the pump and earning bonus points has never been this easy and convenient. Unlike some other loyalty programs where benefits are limited to a specific card, the RBC Petro-Canada program allows Canadians to use every linked RBC card in their wallet to save instantly on fuel and earn 20% more points. This means if you are not keen on having a credit card you won’t feel like the black sheep as you still qualify for this program!

So how do you cash in on this amazing program? All you have to do is pick which RBC debit or credit cards that fit your needs, and link your Petro-Points card to your RBC profile by visiting the website. Once your cards are linked, simply pay with your RBC debit or credit card at Petro-Canada to instantly save 3¢ per litre on fuel and earn those bonus Petro-Points. If you link your RBC Rewards card, you will also earn bonus RBC Rewards points.

    I heard today that Vancouver has the highest gas prices right now in all of North America, so this program sounds like it could really help us out. If I won I’d love to drive to Calgary to visit some friends and family for the holidays!

    So the points are link to your Debit card~! And that is all we use thus those points should add up! Good idea RBC!

    Monthly Savings? Well we bought a new car in May and we already put 15,000 KM’s on it. So our monthly savings would be about $65 which is impressive when your on a lean budget.

    Honestly? It would probably just go towards lowering our monthly expenses by being used for commuting. Luckily there isn’t a long commute in our household so $100 would go a long way!
