This Mermaid Cookie Dip is the perfect treat to eat while watching The Little Mermaid Live on ABC tonight (November 5, 2019) at 8:00 PM EST!
That’s right, The Little Mermaid Live is airing on ABC tonight.
Of course, many kids will not be able to stay up late to watch it, so I suggest recording it and having a watch party on the weekend.
I’m sharing 3 mermaid recipes on the blog today to help you create a fun day surrounding the show.
You can make all the recipes with the kids, decorate the living room and enjoy some family fun.

Mermaid Cookie Dip
Whip up a batch of this Mermaid Cookie Dip and serve it with some wafers, sugar cookies or your favourite cookie! It will look great on a mermaid themed party dessert table too.
What You Will Need:
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened (i.e. one whole brick)
- 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pink gel food colouring
- Purple gel food colouring
- ¼ cup multicoloured sprinkles + extra for garnishing (we used a mix with tons of pink, purple, blue, etc.)
- Aqua jelly beans
- Purple jelly beans
- Wafers, cookies, biscuits for dipping
How To Make Mermaid Cookie Dip

Gather all of the ingredients you will need.

Place your milk, cream cheese and 2 cups of confectioner’s sugar into a mixing bowl.

Start beating on low speed, gradually increase the speed to high.
Once the batter is smooth, stop the mixer to add another cup of sugar. Beat until smooth and then add the final cup of confectioners’ sugar.
Beat again and add vanilla extract.
Once the mixture is smooth, divide into two bowls.

Colour one bowl with pink gel food colouring.

Then colour the other with purple gel food colouring.

Add purple batter and sprinkles into the pink batter.

Fold, ensuring you don’t mix both colours. Instead, aim to blend them to create a marbled look.

Serve in individual bowls and garnish with jelly beans and more sprinkles.

Instructions
- Using a mixer, start beating cream cheese, 2 cups confectioners' sugar and milk on low speed.
- Gradually increase the speed to high.
- Once the batter is smooth, stop the mixer to add another cup of sugar. Beat until smooth and then add the final cup of confectioners' sugar.
- Beat again and add vanilla extract.
- Once the mixture is smooth, divide into two bowls.
- Colour one bowl with pink gel food colouring and the other with purple gel food colouring.
- Add purple batter and 1/4 cup sprinkles into the pink and fold, ensuring you don't mix both colours. Instead, aim to blend them to create a marbled look.
- Serve in individual bowls and garnish with jelly beans and more sprinkles.
- Enjoy with your favourite cookies!
